It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elise, a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and community advocate, who left us peacefully at the age of 44. Elise was born on May 12, 1980, in Portland, Oregon. She grew up in a loving family and developed a passion for the arts at a young age, often found sketching in her notepad or singing at local community events. After graduating from Lincoln High School, she attended the University of Oregon, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. Throughout her life, Elise was known for her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her community.

Elise first met John at a local coffee shop, where they both happened to be waiting out a rainstorm. They struck up a conversation about their favorite books, and the chemistry was instant. For their first date, they decided to go for a bike ride along the waterfront, enjoying the fresh air and laughter as they explored the scenic path together. It felt so natural, like they had known each other for ages, and by the end of the day, Elise knew there was something special about John.

Elise had always wanted a Samoyed, drawn to their fluffy coats and playful nature. But when she found Luna and Snowy as a bonded pair, she couldn’t resist; the two had already formed a sweet connection that made them perfect together. Adopting them both felt like fate, and they’ve brought double the joy to her family ever since.

For their honeymoon, Elise and John went to this amazing black-sand beach in Iceland. They spent hours just strolling along the shore, soaking up the view of the dark sand against the ocean—it was unlike anything they’d ever seen. The place was quiet and beautiful, and it felt like they had the whole beach to themselves.

Elise, John, and their daughter May spent a magical day watching the hot air balloons drift across the sky, captivated by the rainbow of colors floating above them. May was especially thrilled, and as each balloon rose, she kept excitedly chanting, “Up, up, like a rainbow cup!” Her laughter and wonder made the day unforgettable, a perfect family adventure under the open sky.
